About Me
I am the Executive Editor of Quest Means Business, which airs weekdays on CNN International and streams on CNN Max. I lead a team of smart, enthusiastic journalists based in our New York offices. We want to destroy the myth that business news is boring.
Previously, I spent nine years working as a field producer out of CNN's Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong. I also contributed to the NPR podcast The Indicator from Planet Money.
My work has taken me everywhere from Brazil to Vanuatu, but I am passionate about the Asian region and have covered many of its most important stories, including the devastating earthquake in Nepal, the rise of Hong Kong's Umbrella Movement and the impeachment of former South Korean President Park Geun-hye. I was part of CNN's Emmy-nominated and RTS award-winning team in the Philippines reporting on the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan.
I am committed to creating engaging, multi-platform storytelling and bringing original narratives to my audience. I have recently reported on Australia's treatment of child refugees in Nauru, ivory smuggling in Hong Kong and life inside Indonesia's toxic volcanic crater. You can see a selection of my work here.
In 2011, I received an Asian Television Award with CNN correspondent Sara Sidner for this story about a young Bangladeshi boy who turned in a street gang that was brutalizing children and forcing them to beg.
In addition to covering breaking news, I have substantial experience covering business and economics issues, including the impact of the 2008 financial crisis on China's factory belt.
Before moving to Hong Kong, I was based at CNN in London, where I produced live news and business programming. I began my career in 2004 on the international desk in CNN's Atlanta headquarters.
I graduated summa cum laude from Yale University with a degree in history.
Outside of journalism, I'm enthusiastic about yoga, travel and mystery novels. Book recommendations are always welcome.
